Full Time, On - site position: Needville, TX

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 11pm - 7am

 

Are you empathetic, patient, and passionate about helping young adults on their journey to mental wellness? Join us at OPI Houston (FKA Fulshear) in Needville, TX, as a Direct Support Mentor!

 

As an overnight mentor, you'll work with young adults ages 18-28, ensuring their safety and well-being during the night. You’ll provide support and guidance, helping clients practice healthy sleep hygiene and maintaining a calming environment. Empathy and the ability to uphold strong personal and professional boundaries are essential to succeed in this role as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on supporting mental health.

Through therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy, equine-assisted therapy, and trauma-focused modalities, we help them heal beyond trauma and attachment wounds. Our beautiful 34-acre ranch offers a supportive environment for young people to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement and Support: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries while assisting with their daily needs and activities.
  • Effective Treatment Application: Review and apply treatment team strategies daily to drive client progress and ensure effective intervention.
  • Crisis Management Expertise: Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management training to support clients, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Attachment-Based Care: Embrace a caregiver role with empathy and intentionality, fostering attuned relationships and providing constructive feedback to support client growth.
  • Campus Cleanliness and Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by managing campus upkeep, supporting clients with chores, and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client interactions and staff interventions to ensure consistent and effective care.
  • Professional Standards and Compliance: Uphold company values, communicate effectively, adhere to policies, and maintain punctuality while managing time off and avoiding unauthorized overtime.

Qualifications

  • Age: 21 years of age or older
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training 
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws.
