Schedule: On Call overnight as needed on Weekends!

 

Are you empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting young adults on their journey to mental wellness, even during the quiet hours? Join us at OPI Houston (FKA Fulshear) in Needville, TX, as an Overnight On Call Direct Support Mentor!

 

As an overnight on call mentor, you’ll provide a safe, structured environment for young adults ages 18–28 while they rest and recharge. Your role focuses on maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere, ensuring safety, and responding to any needs that arise during the night. Empathy, vigilance, and strong personal and professional boundaries are essential for success in this position.

 

While this role is less physically active than our daytime positions, you’ll still play a vital part in the therapeutic process by modeling healthy routines, supporting evening wind-down activities, and documenting progress for the multidisciplinary team. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a quiet, overnight setting.

Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement and Support: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries while assisting with their daily needs and activities.
  • Effective Treatment Application: Review and apply treatment team strategies daily to drive client progress and ensure effective intervention.
  • Crisis Management Expertise: Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management training to support clients, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Attachment-Based Care: Embrace a caregiver role with empathy and intentionality, fostering attuned relationships and providing constructive feedback to support client growth.
  • Campus Cleanliness and Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by managing campus upkeep, supporting clients with chores, and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client interactions and staff interventions to ensure consistent and effective care.
  • Professional Standards and Compliance: Uphold company values, communicate effectively, adhere to policies, and maintain punctuality while managing time off and avoiding unauthorized overtime.

Qualifications

  • Age: 21 years of age or older
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training 
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws.
  • Physical Intervention: Must be willing and able to participate in physical interventions (e.g., therapeutic holds) when necessary, following all safety protocols and trauma-informed practices
  • Physical Readiness: Comfortable with physically active work, including standing, walking, and engaging in interventions as part of a team-based safety approach
