Schedule: On Call as Needed Weekends only!

 

Are you empathetic, patient, and passionate about helping young adults on their journey to mental wellness? Join us at OPI Houston (FKA Fulshear) in Needville, TX, as a Weekend On Call Direct Support Mentor!

 

In this on-call role, you’ll support young adults ages 18–28 through experiential therapies such as art, music, yoga, hiking, and fitness. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to mental health and well-being. Empathy and strong professional boundaries are essential for success.

 

This active, hands-on position includes ranch-based activities like gardening and animal care, equine therapy, and urban experiences such as museum visits and community service, including transportation to activities. You’ll help create a structured, supportive environment where young adults can heal and build life skills, all while working weekends only as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement and Support: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries while assisting with their daily needs and activities.
  • Effective Treatment Application: Review and apply treatment team strategies daily to drive client progress and ensure effective intervention.
  • Crisis Management Expertise: Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management training to support clients, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Attachment-Based Care: Embrace a caregiver role with empathy and intentionality, fostering attuned relationships and providing constructive feedback to support client growth.
  • Transportation & Community Integration: Safely and comfortably drive clients to appointments, activities, and community outings, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Campus Cleanliness and Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by managing campus upkeep, supporting clients with chores, and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Accurate Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions and interventions while upholding company values, policies, and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Age: 21 years of age or older
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training 
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws.
  • Physical Intervention: Must be willing and able to participate in physical interventions (e.g., therapeutic holds) when necessary, following all safety protocols and trauma-informed practices
  • Physical Readiness: Comfortable with physically active work, including standing, walking, and engaging in interventions as part of a team-based safety approach
