Shift Availability

Full-Time Evening Shifts

  • Sunday – Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Wednesday – Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

On-Call / As-Needed Shifts

  • Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Weekends may be included)
  • Saturday – Sunday:
    • Overnight: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Morning: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Join our behavioral health team and make a difference as a Direct Support Professional In this active, hands-on role, you’ll support young adults (ages 18–28) through experiential therapies like art, music, yoga, fitness, and equine care, plus ranch-based activities and urban experiences. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a structured, therapeutic environment that promotes healing, life skills, and mental wellness. Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement & Support: Create meaningful, supportive connections with clients while maintaining professional boundaries. Assist with daily living activities and encourage independence in a compassionate, respectful manner.
  • Implement Treatment Strategies: Collaborate with the treatment team and apply individualized care plans to promote client progress. Ensure interventions are consistent, effective, and aligned with therapeutic goals.
  • Crisis Intervention & Safety: Use advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management skills to maintain a calm, secure environment. Respond quickly and professionally to challenging situations to protect client well-being.
  • Attachment-Based Care: Provide empathetic, intentional support that fosters trust and emotional growth. Offer constructive feedback and model healthy relationships to help clients thrive.
  • Campus Care & Environment: Maintain a clean, welcoming campus by assisting with chores, addressing maintenance needs, and creating a positive atmosphere that promotes healing and comfort.
  • Accurate Documentation: Complete detailed, timely documentation of client interactions and staff interventions to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Age: 21 years of age or older
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embarks core values.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training 
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws.
  • Physical Intervention: Must be willing and able to participate in physical interventions (e.g., therapeutic holds) when necessary, following all safety protocols and trauma-informed practices
  • Physical Readiness: Comfortable with physically active work, including standing, walking, and engaging in interventions as part of a team-based safety approach
